Dear Community Outreach team and friends in Christ!
Thanks to all who helped put together our Holy Cross Lutheran Church No
One Wants program this year! It was lots of work with lots of Jesus'
love! The veterans families really enjoyed and appreciated the gifts
and the gift cards from Holy Cross! I led the prayer before the meal at
the veterans Christmas party today. It was held at the Goodwill
headquarters' community room ( at Seventh and Hedding) and I helped
distribute the gifts to "Santa's elves" to match the child with the
age-appropriate gifts our Holy Cross members generously donated from
our NOW program. They also LOVED the crocheted blankets and the
beanies. The Target gift cards were really a welcome gift. The $250
gift cards for the really needy vet families were given to help them
out particularly at this time of the year. One veteran was so
overcome with joy at the generous gift to help him -- he couldn't
believe it... he thought it was a mistake when Juanita gave his family
one of our $250 Target cards-- he thought it was only supposed to be $25!
Enjoy the photos! I will send them over in batches...
In Jesus' outreaching love,
Kath
